Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Tasty & Good collects when you visit this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We have written it in plain language on purpose. Tasty & Good is a small food blog, not a data business, and we ask for very little. The short version is this: we keep only what we need to answer your messages and to understand, in broad terms, how the site is used, and we do not sell your information to anyone.

Who we are

Tasty & Good is an independent blog about balanced everyday eating. Throughout this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to the people who run the blog, and "you" refers to anyone who visits the site or contacts us through it. If any part of this document is unclear, you are welcome to write to us using the address on the Contact page and we will do our best to explain.

Information you give us directly

The main way we collect personal information is through the contact form. When you choose to send us a message, you provide your name, your email address, an optional topic, and the content of your message. We use these details for a single purpose: to read what you have sent and to reply to you. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not use the address you give us for marketing. We ask you not to send sensitive personal information — and in particular not personal health details — through the form, because the site offers general food writing for a wide audience and cannot respond to individual circumstances.

Information collected automatically

Like almost every website, our hosting provider may automatically record limited technical information when a page is requested. This can include your device's IP address, the type of browser and operating system you are using, the page you visited, and the date and time of the visit. This kind of information is standard to the running of any website and is generally used to keep the service secure, to diagnose technical problems, and to understand general patterns of use, such as which articles are read most often. Where such data is collected, we treat it as described here and keep it no longer than we reasonably need.

How we use your information

We use the information described above only for the following purposes: to respond to enquiries and messages you send us; to keep the website working, secure and free of abuse; and to understand, in aggregate and non-identifying terms, how people use the site so that we can improve the writing and the layout. We do not make automated decisions about you, and we do not build advertising profiles.

Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We may share limited information with the service providers who help us run the site — for example, the company that hosts our web pages — and only to the extent they need it to provide that service to us. Those providers are expected to protect your information and to use it only on our instructions. We may also disclose information if we are required to do so by law, or where it is necessary to protect the rights, safety or property of our visitors or ourselves.

How long we keep it

We keep contact-form messages for as long as we need them to handle your enquiry and to keep a reasonable record of correspondence, after which we delete them. Technical logs are kept only for the short periods our hosting provider retains them. If you would like us to delete a message you have sent us, please ask and we will do so unless we are required to keep it for a legal reason.

Your choices and rights

You are always free to browse the site without contacting us, in which case you give us no personal information at all beyond the standard technical data described above. If you have sent us a message, you may ask us what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live, local law may give you additional rights over your personal information; we aim to honour reasonable requests regardless of where you are based. To make any such request, use the Contact page.

Cookies

Our use of cookies and similar technologies is described separately in our Cookie Policy, which forms part of this Privacy Policy. In short, we keep cookies to a minimum and use them only for the basic functioning of the site.

Children

This website is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information through the contact form, please let us know and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in how the site works or in the law. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to check back occasionally. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.

Contact

If you have any questions about this policy or about how your information is handled, please get in touch through the Contact page. We read every message and will respond as soon as we reasonably can.
